Our offer
Even if key users (department users/application support) do not have to develop their own authorization objects and cooperation with SAP Basis is always advantageous, there are often technical questions such as "Which users have authorization to evaluate a specific cost center or internal order?
Authorization object: Authorization objects are groups of authorization fields that control a specific activity. Authorization objects should always be defined in advance with the user group and then relate to a specific action within the system.

Furthermore, automation is possible with the help of a customer-specific ABAP programme. To do this, you should take a closer look at the AGR_TEXTS table. The table contains the different text blocks in different languages. Here we show you a section of the table with our example role Z_SE63. Short texts are assigned a value of 00000 in the column LINE, and long texts are assigned a value of 00001 to 0000x. The language keys are displayed in the SPRAS column. An ABAP programme now allows you to write the counterparts for the text fields in the target language into the fields in the tables.
Architecture of authorization concepts
For the entries in the SPTH table, note that the application defines whether a file is accessed with or without the path. For example, the related transactions ST11 (error log files) and AL11 (SAP directories) behave differently. While ST11 opens almost all files without a path (they are in the DIR_HOME directory anyway), AL11 basically uses fully specified file names with a path. An entry in the SPTH table with PATH = / is therefore misleading. It specifies that the defined access restrictions apply to all files specified by path. However, this only applies to applications that access files using a specified path. However, applications that access files without a path are not restricted; Files in the DIR_HOME directory may be excluded.

You have read that it is possible to perform mass activities, such as mass roll-offs, using standard means. This is all too complicated for you, and you are still looking for simple solutions for role maintenance? I'm sure you'll have a look at tools from SAP partners that promise to help. In this context, we would like to give you some more information in this tip. There is a very practical occasion: We have too often found a "broken" authorisation system with SAP customers, caused by the incorrect application of additional programmes. Sometimes, the role content was misaligned and the suggestion values were not neatly maintained, so at some point the permission administrators couldn't figure out what to do. Therefore, you should check very well whether the tool you are considering is actually suitable for your purposes.

Secure your go-live additionally with "Shortcut for SAP systems". You can assign necessary SAP authorizations quickly and easily directly in the system.

When your selection is complete, just exit the image with the green button.
