The SAP Basis & Technology department deals intensively with SAP technologies and their application. The possibilities and limits are examined and corresponding specifications and tools are developed in order to use the technologies profitably. The results and findings are made available to the other alogis areas and implemented in real-life customer projects.
For existing solutions, it is necessary to assess to what extent the solution is customised. A modification is the more serious the more time-consuming the maintenance is, including testing, e.g. in the case of upgrades. The fewer customer specifications are available, the more suitable a system or application is for external operation by a service form to be chosen.

Meanwhile, there are other ways to build consensus. How do blocks form in a blockchain? Each block will build irrevocably on an older block. If you were to remove the block, you would also have to remove all blocks above it, which would destroy the entire chain of blocks. A blockchain is programmed to work with each miner on the longest part of the blockchain, as this is obviously the chain in which most of the work has been invested.
NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND INNOVATIONS The role of IT is changing (bi-modal IT). On the SAP basis, this new bi-modal organisation is particularly true. On the one hand, it is necessary to continue to ensure the SAP operation in the usual stability and security, and on the other hand, to act as a business innovator in order to fulfil the role as a technology consultant for SAP technology. ADJUST SAP basis NAMING The original definition and naming of the SAP basis no longer meets today's task. Therefore, it is recommended to give the SAP basis a meaningful and contemporary description depending on the future organisation form. For example, the bi-modal role listed in Recommendation [A1] should be taken into account.

Basis is a set of programs and tools that interface with databases, operating systems, communication protocols, and business applications (such as FI, CO, MM, etc).
