The lifecycle of an SAP system begins with the installation of the database platform. This is installed by an SAP Basis administrator and can consist of one of the following databases: HANA, Sybase, DB2, Oracle, MSSQL and MaxDB.
The application layer is the central component of the SAP R/3 system. This layer is therefore also referred to by SAP as the actual basis system. Within the layer there are application servers and a message server.

Users usually notice the problem of a user comparison that has not been carried out quite quickly: Authorizations are missing, although at first glance they are available in the assigned authorization roles. This is because a user is assigned the correct authorization role - but the profile associated with the role is not up to date.
Tools such as "Shortcut for SAP Systems" are extremely useful in basic administration.
The size of the respective company is also essential.
