In the SAP NetWeaver BI Authorization Concept lesson, the training participant is familiarized with the authorization functions of the SAP Business Information Warehouse. The differences between the authorization concept for ERP systems and the authorization concept for NetWeaver BI are taught.
So-called Access Control Lists (ACL) offer a good possibility to secure your gateway in order to exclude unwanted external accesses to the database of the application server. With the help of the ACL files reginfo and secinfo an access control can be implemented, in which allowed as well as forbidden communication partners can be defined. The reginfo file controls the registration of external programs on the gateway, which means that rules can be defined that allow or prohibit programs. With the help of the file secinfo you can define which users are allowed to start an external program. To be able to use these files, you must set the parameters gw/reg_info and gw/sec_info (transaction RZ11). For more information, refer to SAP Note 1408081.
PERFORMANCE
As an SAP Basis administrator, you are faced with the challenge of balancing acute daily business and recurring routine tasks. As the complexity of the systems and the interdependencies tend to increase, the challenges are great and the requirements are growing. Daily and at the same time business-critical routine tasks are SAP job control and regular data backups. Automating these tasks can free up time for the day-to-day business of maintenance, servicing, support and troubleshooting. Clear monitoring and alerting in the event of an error help to maintain operational reliability and meet corporate compliance requirements.
The establishment of Software-Defined Data Centres or IaaS are the key to further flexibility and standardisation of SAP technology infrastructure. The concept of a Software-Defined Data Centre is to create an abstraction layer over the individual virtualised components, such as servers, networks or storage, that controls, controls, provisioning, and automates the entire infrastructure.
Some missing SAP basic functions in the standard are supplied by the PC application "Shortcut for SAP Systems".
The typical sequence of clicking on a Fiori app in the launchpad triggers the following steps: 1) When selecting the tile, the app Fiori implementation is called 2) The app retrieves dynamic data from the HTTP endpoint of the OData service on the frontend server from 3) An RFC call to the gateway activation of the backend system is followed, retrieving the relevant business logic 4) Now the Fiori permission for the corresponding OData service is queried on the backend 5) If this was successful the appropriate business logic permissions are queried in the OData service.
The SAP basis has a clearly defined self-understanding (inward-looking perception) as well as a clear positioning and a defined task area within the IT organisation (outward-facing perception), as shown in Figure 5.
